Virgin Media and Tesco Mobile UK Go ‘Unlimited’

We just told you how MetroPCS intends to increase business by offering revised service plans and additional features in each plan (click here for original post). Competition everywhere is pretty high. So now, both Virgin and Tesco Mobile in the UK are going ‘unlimited’ with their tariff plans too.

Virgin Media have lifted the curtains off their £65/month tariff, which comes with unlimited call, text and mobile Internet usage. The problem is that you have to sign an 18-month contract. This service does not include the Samsung Jet, Nokia N86 and some other devices. Well, that seems to be a very long-standing contract and not really too inexpensive, so we have to see if this will be as popular as the company expects it to be.

Next comes Tesco Mobile, which has also introduced its new ‘unlimited’ tariff plan. It offers a pay-per-month contract at a mere £30/month. In addition to this, this service is SIM-only, which means, you need to get your own device. This tariff is basically talk and text only. So this is a great idea if you only message and make a lot of domestic calls. But if you are used to making international calls or browsing the Net on your phone, this tariff plan is clearly not for you. Click here to know more about Tesco Mobile.
