Verizon to Launch Mobile TV Service March 1

According to a coverage map on its Web site, Verizon Wireless will launch its V CAST Mobile TV service in select markets beginning March 1. However the coverage map does not show any VCAST TV availability anywhere in the nation, nor is further information available from Verizon.

The service will initially be available on just two handsets, the LG VX9400 and Samsung SCH-U620. Neither is yet available on Verizon’s site. AT&T announced it will launch a mobile TV service based on MediaFLO’s technology later this year and T-Mobile and Alltel are trialling the technology.
