Truphone Has Added IM and Twitter to its iPhone and iPod Touch Apps
Truphone has made available complete two-way instant messaging utilizing MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk for the iPod Touch. It has also voiced that its availability on the iPhone will begin within the week of January 12th.
“We understand that customers increasingly want more integrated communications and like to switch between chat and voice,” stated by Truphone CEO Geraldine Wilson.
With this application you can make and receive calls using Google Talk; however, calling features will be added to MSN and Yahoo! Messenger apps within the following weeks. Another feature available through Truphone is the integration of Twitter allowing users to see what their friends are talking about as well as giving them the option to post from within the Truphone app.
Truphone has also announced their affiliation with Skype calling and IM for integration with the iPod Touch and iPhone. Truphone users can now import all of their contacts from their iPhone and iPod accounts in order to chat with them all from the simple and easy to use Truphone interface.
IM’s are free at all times as long as you’re in a Wi-Fi bearing surrounding. iPhone users are allowed to IM when out of Wi-Fi range, however, normal and additional data chargers will apply towards the customers unlimited data package.
