The Samsung Cubic might, at first glance, look like just one more of the seemingly countless full-touch dumbphones and Windows Mobile smartphones churned out by the company. But you know what? Rumor has it that this might end up being one of the company’s first Android devices.
If you’re wondering how the S8000 model number morphed into Cubic, the answer lies not in its cubic d-pad, but rather in its interface, which could sport the usual TouchWiz with 3D enhancements, similar to that of the OmniaHD. This smartphone also includes a WVGA AMOLED 3.1 inche display, HSDPA, WiFi, AGPS, FM with RDS and 2GB of internal storage with microSDHC expansion.

Mobile gaming is definitely the “in” thing today. The Apple iPhone is probably the leader of the bunch, with game developers vying to offer their wares on the iPhone’s large multi-touch display. Considering this huge wave, it looks like “Halo” will be making the jump to the smartphone as well. Those among you who are diehard fans of the iconic “Halo” gaming franchise are sure to exult at this news!
A new job posting by Microsoft seems to indicate a new Windows Mobile application that will “blend console, web, and mobile to create an immersive Halo world that follows the dedicated Halo fan wherever they go.” Of course, this verbiage does not explicitly mention a mobile version of the Halo game. Microsoft could actually be working on a new Halo application that complements a gamer’s gaming persona.
Still, it would be great to see “Halo” available in the Windows Marketplace sometime soon, huh?

Granted that the HTC Snap smartphone does not look too great. But you know what? It comes with a host of functionalities. You may not think much about the HTC’s latest portrait QWERTY handset from the photographs below, but believe us, it does possess more than just average looks.
The Snap uses the Inner Circle feature, which HTC also introduced this week, which helps you add email addresses from your address book or from incoming emails. Also, when Inner Circle is enabled, only emails from those contacts will be visible in the Snap’s unified account-agnostic inbox. This becomes a great idea for shutting out the electronic noise most of us experience in our day-to-day lives, and we’re hoping this little feature finds its way to HTC’s full Windows Mobile lineup in the near future. Keep your eyes and ears open, US folks, coz this will be coming in the guise of the S522 in the next few weeks.

Zer01 Mobile has officially announced its new Zer01 Mobile true unlimited voice and data mobile service at the CTIA Wireless 2009. This service is priced at $69.95 per month without contracts and will be on from July 1, 2009.
Treating all phone calls as data packet, the company routes all phone calls with its proprietary VoIP system. This process requires a software to be installed on the phone that can handle a secure connection between the user’s phone and Zer01 backend servers. The Zer01 Mobile unlimited service will initially be available on Windows Mobile smartphones. Support for other devices such as Blackberry, Android and iPhone will be available within a few months’ time.
