Fakes Galore: 4 Vertu Rip-offs In The Mobile Market

We all love to own luxury stuff. Only, not all of us can afford the cost these brands come with. That’s the reason why fakes thrive the way they do! Last weekend saw the arrival of four Vertu rip-offs entering the mobile market.

Vertu V6000i Ripoff

While they all look stunningly similar to the original models, they of course lack the quality, plus they don’t come with the usual warranty and so on.

Vertu 6612 Ripoff

Two of these devices, V6000i and 6612 have a touchscreen display and the other two, that is, V100 and V10, have only Bluetooth, music player and microSD slot. Some of these even come with twin SIM card slots – talk about creativity taking wings!

One look at these pics and you’ll know how easy it is to get conned in this big bad world. Just make sure to purchase your Vertu phone from an authorized Nokia Flagship Store or some such thing. Remember never to buy such precious stuff from unknown online sources.

Fake Handhelds In The Markets This Week

Fake and clone mobile phones and smartphones are dime a dozen, with more and more such brands flooding the market each day. We found four such new fake brands this week. Let us see what they are.

Samsung Pixon
The optical zoom of the camera of this so-called “model” is what is remarkable about this device. Of course, we doubt its picture quality would be anything even remotely similar to the original “real” version.

LG KM900 Arena
Though very close to the actual Arena, which boasts of a WVGA touchscreen display, this fake comes with a standard QVGA display. It is also not so slim as the real Arena.

Sony Ericsson Idou
The fake version does not include the Symbian Foundation, neither does it offer SE’s stunning 12MP camera and other fantastic services like Satio packs and the like.

Vertu K73
This model says “K73”, but we really don’t think there is a Vertu model by that name at all. But it is “inspired” by the Vertu name after all, so we include it in the fake category.

The noteworthy fact is that all the above phones possess Bluetooth support, microSD slot. Why, some even offer the dual-SIM facility. Also, all of them come with a warranty. Of course, we wonder how good the said “warranty” might be….

Vertu Finally Opens Retail Store In Ginza, Tokyo

We all were already aware of the fact, weeks ago, that the lifestyle mobile phone brand, Vertu, was planning to open at Tokyo’s Ginza district by late February. In spite of markets around the world crashing, Vertu has kept up its promise and opened up its luxury retail location at Ginza, after all.

Of course, not everyone can have the capacity to purchase a Vertu handset, but hey, this place is beautiful and tasteful enough to pass off as a tourist spot, so no one’s complaining! Do try and drop in into the Vertu store if you are ever in the vicinity. Take a look at the Vertu retail outlet right now.

Vertu Displays Its Latest Signature Dragon At The Wynn, Las Vegas

Oh, heck, Vertu has gone ahead and done it yet again! There is hardly anyone who has not heard of The Wynn hotel along the famous Strip at Las Vegas. This posh hotel is known to house some of the most high-end lifestyle shops within its gigantic complex. One of these shops, houses a Vertu store, a company that is known to manufacture limited edition, luxury mobile phones. There is, of course, no problem with that. The problem is with Vertu displaying its latest luxury handset, the ‘Vertu Signature Dragon’, in that very store. And you know what else? The Vertu Signature Dragon does not even feature on the company’s website yet.

Strikingly similar to the Vertu Signature Cobra, this Dragon thingy looks more crass than class. (Remember the Vertu Boucheron 150? If you thought it was “ugh”, we do not know what you will say to this one). It would have been great to see some ‘special effects’ on the dragon at least, like the eyes glowing during an incoming SMS or call. Sadly, there is nothing of this sort.

An effigy of a dragon, which adorns one L-shaped corner of the phone, is completely covered with precious jewels, so this phone definitely is not coming cheap. Anyway, do take a sneak peek right here and tell us what you think of the latest Vertu Signature Dragon.
