Folks in the area of Indianapolis have long been waiting for 3G speeds to arrive. It’s been one of the disappointing hot spots of the whole T-Mobile 3G network expansion.…
T-Mobile has not yet issued any official statement on this issue, but the word doing its rounds in the mobile market is that hackers have found their way into T-Mobile USA’s innermost sanctum sanctorum and escaped with loads of information, including subscriber data. Now this makes sense as to why parts of T-Mobile’s website have been down for most of the day today.
The exact extent of damage is unclear, but the alleged hackers say they “have everything, their databases, confidential documents, scripts and programs from their servers, financial documents up to 2009″. Why, they even go on to claim that they’ve been in touch with the carrier’s competitors trying to sell the data, but have been turned away, and that they are now wanting to sell it to the highest bidder. If this is actually true, we cannot imagine why they might want to try selling the data through a public forum. Anyway, let’s hope they’re brought down quickly and T-Mob gets to swim swiftly through this crisis.
