RUMOR: Nokia Readying Swiveling QWERTY Phone For Verizon
Nokia is rumored to be working on a swiveling feature phone for Verizon and this, it is said, will be launched in July or August this year. According to hearsay, this new phone takes inspiration from Nokia’s E71 smartphone and comes with a full QWERTY keyboard that appears when you swivel the phone open.
Sources also claim that this phone will use Nokia’s S40 user interface – we do not know if we wanna believe that one, really. Verizon developed its own feature phone user interface a few years ago, and has not released a non-smartphone with the manufacturer’s user interface since then. You may recall that the carrier also recently launched the Nokia 7205 Intrigue, which used this custom Verizon user interface, rather than Nokia’s S40 interface.
