Palm Announces Brand New webOS and Palm Pre
The 2009 CES was Palm Inc. lifting the curtains off its brand new Palm webOS mobile platform, which will help users be constantly connected to the Web and the new Palm Pre, its very first phone based on this new platform. Also, Pre, which is expected to hit the markets in the first half of 2009, and will be available only from Sprint’s Mobile Broadband Network.
Palm webOS, created exclusively for mobile use, uses Palm Synergy, that lets users veritably carry their computers in their pockets. Only, the wireless device is not bound to any personal computer, rather, it automatically supplies you all the information you would ever want, and integrates it all into one single, simple user interface. This also gives you the convenience of running multiple web and other applications at the same time. The latest Palm Pre and webOS go hand-in-hand to fit all your mobile Internet needs.
The GPS-enabled, multimedia Palm Pre has a smooth design with the QWERTY keyboard sliding out only when required. The curved slider and gesture-controlled UI give you super-fast access to all its features, which makes it appear like it is actually thinking ahead of you. Sprint will be offering a whole lot of streaming-radio apps, including Sprint Radio, and more than 150 channels on the Palm Pre. The pricing of this device has not been disclosed as yet.
