Then there was this very recent thing about iPhone running Mac OS 7. Just look how much progress the mobile industry has made in the last few years. These days, more and more smartphones are coming into the market, each one more powerful than the other, each one capable of running more powerful platforms.

Today Nokia has made its new platform for Messaging services publicly known. This service known as Nokia Messaging aides in mobilizing consumer email and instant messaging (IM). This new feature from Nokia will allow many of its customers to access their email and IM accounts all from Yahoo. As well as other mail services like Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! Messenger®, and more. It will bring together thousands of solutions and applications all “under one roof”. Nokia has also launched its new online interactive portal called Ovi. This online portal gives PC users the ability to create and access Ovi email accounts while gaining access to several other Ovi services.
Accessing your Mail on Ovi gives you 1 full GB or storage space, spam filters, and the option to block unwanted emails by specific senders or just domains. Once you create your Mail on Ovi account you’re able to surf and explore much of Ovi’s services all through one convenient account on your mobile phone or from the comfort of your PC. The beta version of Ovi has already come out of hiding this December 2008 in 12 distinct languages, with the open suggestion of more languages to come on a later date. However, the web version of Mail on Ovi is scheduled to launch in February 2009.
Nokia Messaging will ultimately launch within the first quarter of 2009 in Australia, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela, with a later launching date within select countries. This service is currently available for free, for a limited time since its on beta trial. Consumers who own such smart phones and multi-function devices as the Nokia E71 and N95 are able to instantly go to email.nokia.com and install these services on their devices. Nokia Messaging allows for easy readability, forwarding services, and effortless reply through email.
Nokia’s providing its consumers with the ability to gain full access to a mobile email account without the prior need to have one. The fact that Nokia has shipped over 200 million devices capable of accepting messaging services all supported through Nokia Messaging and Ovi, shows us that this mobile giant is as serious as ever about revolutionizing the way its devices communicate using messaging services.
