T-Mobile Announces New Entry-Level Cell Phone, the MDA Basic
The T-Mobile MDA Basic, an entry-level Windows smartphone, is T-Mobile’s own version of the HTC Touch Viva, except for a few more software upgrades. This very compact touchscreen handheld is not 3G, but does support WiFi, EDGE and Bluetooth. The T-Mobile MDA Basic has a 2MP camera and microSD card slot for expandable memory. Though it is referred to as the “MDA Basic”, it is actually quite advanced and offers a host of features.
This device uses HTC TouchFLO user interface technology (though not by default) and is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, which helps it deliver a great performance. The buzz is that some German companies are already looking out for this phone, waiting for its arrival into the market.
The T-Mobile MDA Basic is set to make its entry sometime in February 2009. The pricing of this phone is a mere EUR 4.95 with a two-year contract and is ideal if you are thinking of purchasing an entry-level phone.
