With Sony Ericsson and Samsung showing off their 12MP camera phones recently, could LG afford to be left far behind? LG Electronics has officially announced that it is all set to show off its next-gen LG Chocolate feature phone in August. There are not many details on this one yet, but the company says that this new phone will be designed by the original Chocolate designing team and that it will be better off than the first-gen phone.
The company also stated that the 2nd generation Chocolate phone would use a unique display, so as to “maximize usability while inheriting the original minimalist-inspired style and iconic design,” to quote the statement verbatim. LG claims that it has sold 21million Chocolate handsets in 54 countries of the world. Anyway, we will hopefully let you know soon about this device.

RIM has finally brought the BlackBerry Bold told to South Korea, with a little help from SK Telecom. A localized version of the BlackBerry Bold smartphone will be available here, starting this week. The region had almost banned all foreign handsets being promoted by local carriers, but now it’s all over.
Of course, the local faves are still undoubtedly LG, Pantech and Samsung. So we are not yet sure about how well a device with an English QWERTY keyboard might fare out here. But then it’s always good to have some more competition, right, folks?

First it was LG’s not-so-sought-after GD910 watch phone that never quite happened. Now it is Sony Ericsson’s turn to come out with some such product, curiously dubbed as the “Mobile Terminal”. This is supposedly a bracelet mobile phone thingy, with a few additions.
The additions supposedly include some keys on the side of the wristband, which are intended to give the user a better typing experience. We doubt this product will actually come into being, but hey, we keep hoping, ‘coz that’s our job!
