Mobile world seems to be steadily filling up with watch phones these days. While the LG GD910 watch phone is soon coming to Europe next month, Samsung is busy promoting its own S9110 device (did you notice the strange similarity in the numbers, by any chance?). The S9110, which Samsung claims is the slimmest watch phone so far, is only 11.98mm thick. The LG GD910 is 13.9mm thick.
The Samsung S9110, which the company introduced at a press release, comes with GSM dualband network, 1.76” touchscreen display, Bluetooth and speakerphone. This device, though, lacks 3G. The S9110 will retail at about 450 EUR, which is about $639. The S9110 will be introduced in France this month.
We had told you about the LG GD910 a long time back and expected to bring you the news of the release of this unique watch-phone. Now, it seems that this product could be hitting the UK first. Some online sources claim that this device will be released by Orange somewhere in August this year.
The LG GD910 watch-phone is said to include 3G, touch UI, Bluetooth speaker and even a Web browser. The device, it is additionally believed, will come on a Pay-as-you-go SIM-free plan. The shocking thing here, though , is the price one will have to cough up to own this one. This piece is said to be priced at £1000, something which we find difficult to digest.
We sure hope the news about the price is not true, else this cutie is just gonna be left waiting in the stands, literally!
First it was LG’s not-so-sought-after GD910 watch phone that never quite happened. Now it is Sony Ericsson’s turn to come out with some such product, curiously dubbed as the “Mobile Terminal”. This is supposedly a bracelet mobile phone thingy, with a few additions.
The additions supposedly include some keys on the side of the wristband, which are intended to give the user a better typing experience. We doubt this product will actually come into being, but hey, we keep hoping, ‘coz that’s our job!
LG’s first touchscreen watch phone, the GD910, features a 3G HSDPA with full Video Conferencing capabilities, 7.2 Mbps download speed and even has a built-in camera for video calls. The LG-GD910 also boasts SMS, Bluetooth, voice recognition and TTS (Text To Speech), Transferring music (MP3) and picture files is a snap, just like on a regular handset.
