The FCC has recently received information on the Kyocera S1300, meaning that it could soon reach the mobile market. As long as everything is approved and reviewed by the FCC, then the Kyocera S1300 will be available soon. The S1300 will feature a tri-band 800/1700/1900MHz CDMA network and will arrive with a GPS. The rest of this device is said to be basic and easy to utilize.
The S1300 will not feature a camera as odd as this may be with how technology’s advanced recently, however its easy usability will recompense for the lack of technology. This device allows for speakerphone support, voice commands and integrated Web browsing. We have no clue on which carrier Kyocera will offer the S1300 on, however MetroPCS will be a more suited carrier.
The Kyocera Neo E1100 is an entry-level flip handset with a vibrant 2.2 inch QVGA screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera with dedicated side-key controls, Bluetooth 2.0, and caller ID feature. The phone also features MMS, EMS, SMS and instant messaging support, built-in MP3 ringtones, predictive text input for rapid text entry, and an access to web and emails.
Kyocera has decided together with Wind River (global leader in Device Software Optimization) to develop mobile hardware and software for Android-based devices. Dave Carey, vice president and general manager of the Consumer Products Group at Kyocera Wireless Corp said:
“Our adoption of the Android platform further exemplifies how Kyocera Wireless is driving the convergence of telecommunication, broadband and multimedia technologies in mobile devices.” He added, “We are committed to developing compelling consumer devices that leverage our robust technology portfolio. Our goal is to make Kyocera the leader in Android integration among CDMA device manufacturers in the markets we serve.”
Wind River’s Android systems integration services will provide its broad mobile and deep open source expertise to Kyocera Wireless to help them accomplish their market goals.
Japanese KDDI today announced new additions to its handset range. The Toshiba W64T is a 1-Seg clamshell phone with dedicated touch-sensitive TV key. With an elegant design it has a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and shake hands reduction, and microSD memory card slot support. The W64T measures 50 x 104 x 17.3 mm and weighs about 124 g.
The second model, W63K by Kyocera is a candybar phone which at first glance surprised me – missing camera and Bluetooth. But user can enjoy other features like: 2.7″ IPS LCD Wide QVGA screen with 240 × 400 pixels, CDMA 1x EV-DO, and e-mail. In 89 g it provides 250 minutes of talk time and 340 hours of standby time.
The carrier will launch these handsets in September 25 and 26 for price which will depend on the retail store.
