i-mate and Japan Communications Inc. recently announced their plans to release the i-mate Ultimate 8502 smartphone, for the first ever time in Japan. i-mate has now received the JATE/TELEC certifications necessary to launch its product in the world’s most advanced cellular market. JCI has been actively supporting i-mate for a long time and will now be the pioneer company to introduce the Ultimate 8502 smartphone in this country. It will also offer users unlocked-SIM facilities.

JCI, known to develop the world’s most flexible environment for developing on Windows Mobile, is just the right company to open up i-mate’s market potential in Japan. The i-mate Ultimate 8502 touch screen device offers Windows Mobile 6.1, QWERTY-type keyboard, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, clear audio and video recording and playback, Microsoft Office Mobile, PC Sync and many more facilities.

i-mate’s Japanese customers will also receive exclusive access to its i-Q solutions suite. This enables the user to lock, alarm and protect their device in case of thefts. i-mate collaborating with JCI is expected to create a major boom for i-mate in Japan, while also offers citizens of that nation with a much wider choice of smart, cutting-edge cell phones.
