If Microsoft could help it, Windows Mobile 6.5 wouldn’t be coming to a retail device for a few months yet, and if HTC could help it, manufacturers wouldn’t be duplicating its devices. But in this world ridden with plagiarism, a quick search on the internet could take you to a cooked 6.5 ROM. Yet another search could give you a lowdown on the shockingly numerous low-cost rips of much sought-after branded handsets.
So why are we giving you all this extra gyan? Well, the latest such knockoff is that of the Touch Viva. It is apparently based on a white-labeled Huawei platform that offers some kind of 460MHz core, quadband EDGE, a 3.2 megapixel cam, WiFi, and a 2.8-inch QVGA display.
This thingy has an utterly inconsequential design and spec sheet, but costs only about $160 or so. There is one thing here though – you will definitely make history if you ever purchased this handset!

StarHub has now made an official announcement that it will make HSPA+ available with Huawei in Singapore. This makes StarHub the very first operator in Asia-Pacific to have a mobile broadband network capable of speeds of up to 21Mbps. Also, StarHub’s customers will be among the first in the world to experience the fastest mobile broadband speed and superior services through devices provided by Huawei.
HSPA+ increases StarHub’s mobile broadband network capacity to support speeds of up to 21Mbps, from 14.4Mbps previously. HSPA+ is now emerging as a contender for eclipsing the need for WiFi to a great degree, and also challenging WiMax and LTE.
Found most recently at the FCC is the Huawei C206s CDMA 1X Mobile Phone. The Huawei C206s is a basic mobile phone that supports your usual SMS, Voice Mail, Roaming and so on. This simple cell phone also lets you manage your profile to your liking and gives you the facility of the alarm clock, calculator, time zones and SW Version.
There is really nothing very fancy at all about this handset. But it has entered the FCC files, so it is worth a look, what say?
