Spb Software today announced the availability of its new Spb TV app for Windows Mobile that provides users not only with access to streamed TV channels from all over the world, but also program scheduling information for many of the channels.

The application is available in both free and paid forms. The free version has no limit to the amount of time it can be used, but comes with a reduced selection of channels and lacks certain functions. The paid version, on the other hand, permits users to set program reminders in the Windows Mobile calendar, faster channel switching, transparent on-screen controls, and the full week’s worth of program schedules and picture-in-picture support when changing channels. Also, there is no monthly recurring fee for the use of the Spb TV application.

HTC has introduced its new model HTC S740 in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. The launch seems to have been strategically aligned to release handset in three different markets. For Europe HTC S740 is available from September 2008.

HTC S740 is a dual personality phone which offers a traditional 12-key phone design and HTC’s signature sliding QWERTY keyboard for optimal messaging. HTC S740 features fast mobile broadband with a maximum download speed of 7.2 Mbps which is up to 18 times faster than 3G. This slim smartphone features a 2.4 inches QVGA display, a built-in GPS function, FM radio and 3.2 megapixel camera which best fits stills and video shooting purposes.

HTC S740 will be available in these countries from end October 2008. In Singapore at a suggested price of SGD $848 (inclusive of 7% GST) while in Malaysia it will be available at the tag price of RM 1,999.00. For Thailand it will be available in 18,900 Baht.
