I am sure this piece of post will make you smile as you have been waiting for long to see the Firefox Mobile browser that fits you like on your desktop. Firefox Mobile has come out of testing and is now Alpha. It’s codenamed ‘Fennec’.
But not so good for many users as this is only available for Nokia N810 users only which is an early developer release of the mobile version of Firefox, for testing purposes only. So far Firefox people have been focusing on development a new user interface which actually reflects Firefox’s design and principles. Although they have developed a touch screen support interface which is appropriate for mobile phones and other hand held devices also.

Firefox Mobile Alpha

Firefox users have been waiting for Windows Mobile extension for Firefox and we have started getting screen shots its sooner than expected. This alpha version will support fingertip touch interaction, and the browser is designed in a way that the full device screen for content can be done. The control buttons and URL bar is hidden but can be easily uncovered with a single swipe of finger.
The current version is said to be under final touches and it will be release by this time next week codenamed as Fennec. It seems like not too many users will be able to use it as the code will only be available for Nokia’s N810 Internet Tablet. The alpha code is aimed at Mozilla community members, specifically to give the innovative touch user interface and the feature set a grueling workout.
According to Sullivan Mozilla vice president of mobile, there will likely be two or three additional alpha releases over the coming months before the beta version is released, presumably sometime in 2009

After defeating Internet Explorer Firefox is set to challenge Opera this time with Mobile Browser. Firefox plans to bring mobile browser (internally called Trace Monkey) to strengthen its position by offering rich web experience on mobile and embedded devices. By allowing users to take advantage of modern web applications that do much of their work on the browser instead of server side.
It seems like that quite some development has already been done and Firefox Mobile will be available for testing in the next alpha release. There aren’t whole lot of details on Mobile version but it seems like Mobile Firefox will be able to run Firefox extensions on mobile devices and allow third party development via XUL. Mozilla browser will support Palm, Windows Mobile, or Symbian devices.
Firefox has not given any commitment for the mobile browser however it tends to release software when it’s ready and it’s rumoured most likely in 2010 .
