RUMOR: Dual-mode HTC Cedar Slated For Verizon

Rumor is that Verizon Wireless may be associating with a new HTC handset that will work on both GSM and CDMA networks. The Cedar, Whitestone and Twin are all in the fray for Verizon. But the QWERTY-style HTC Cedar seems to be the most likely candidate to win over Verizon’s heart, especially since it passed through the FCC recently.

This is, of course, still in rumor stage, so we cannot confirm anything just as yet. This news is just based on some logical thinking, really. The HTC Twin, which is also rumored to be dual-mode, is not for Verizon. The full touchscreen HTC Whitestone will come to Verizon only as late as September. This leaves the HTC Cedar and hence we think this might be the one destined for Verizon right now. Sounds probable at this stage, huh? Let’s wait and watch for more info on this one.
