Are you desirous of getting yourself a nice, stylish-looking mobile phone for the New Year that also does not burn a painfully large hole in your pocket? Well, Philips has recently introduced its latest Xenium 9@9q phones, which are good looking and yet, do not require you to mortgage your home for the same. The recent Xenium 9@9q Dragon and Phoenix mobile phones look polished and suave, what with a clamshell design and smooth corners, giving the phone models a touch of class.
Both the Xenium 9@9q Dragon and Phoenix offer a discreet external display on both the sides of the phone, that lets the user access information about incoming calls, missed calls, messages, balance battery power and the like. As with all the other phones in the Philips Xenium line, the battery power of these phones is excellent. Both the Dragon and the Phoenix offer you up to 8 hours of talk time, with a standby time of up to 720 hours. Can any other mobile phone ever hope to better that?
Each of these phones are priced at 4999 Russian Rubles, that is, about US $172. Pretty reasonable price for such good-looking phones, we think. What do you say?

Oh, heck, Vertu has gone ahead and done it yet again! There is hardly anyone who has not heard of The Wynn hotel along the famous Strip at Las Vegas. This posh hotel is known to house some of the most high-end lifestyle shops within its gigantic complex. One of these shops, houses a Vertu store, a company that is known to manufacture limited edition, luxury mobile phones. There is, of course, no problem with that. The problem is with Vertu displaying its latest luxury handset, the ‘Vertu Signature Dragon’, in that very store. And you know what else? The Vertu Signature Dragon does not even feature on the company’s website yet.
Strikingly similar to the Vertu Signature Cobra, this Dragon thingy looks more crass than class. (Remember the Vertu Boucheron 150? If you thought it was “ugh”, we do not know what you will say to this one). It would have been great to see some ‘special effects’ on the dragon at least, like the eyes glowing during an incoming SMS or call. Sadly, there is nothing of this sort.
An effigy of a dragon, which adorns one L-shaped corner of the phone, is completely covered with precious jewels, so this phone definitely is not coming cheap. Anyway, do take a sneak peek right here and tell us what you think of the latest Vertu Signature Dragon.
