BlackBerry Tour 9630 Now Available With Sprint And Verizon

We had recently brought you a video review of the BlackBerry Tour 9630. The smartphone is now available at both Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Both these carriers have priced the device at $199.99 with a two-year contract.

The Tour looks much like the Bold and Curve 8900, with very little differences in design. Specs include a trackball, quad-band GSM/EDGE and EV-DO CDMA for both Sprint and Verizon networks. Visit Sprint and Verizon Wireless for more info.

The BlackBerry Onyx With Optical Trackball Is Spotted!

RIM is now coming out like never before with its optical trackball feature. It was initially the Curve 8520 that adopted this feature. Now it’s the turn of the Onyx to be spotted with the optical trackball.

We, of course, had expected something of this sort, after having seen this 3G mix of the Curve 8900 and Bold smartphones. Well, we aren’t complaining – optical trackballs look stylish and they are of great use as well. We have no idea about availability – we’ll keep you posted when we come to know. Leaked: BlackBerry Curve 8900 Receives an Exciting OS Upgrade

BlackBerry’s new Curve 8900 released on January 19th has only been made available to T-Mobile’s long list of business customers. However, as T-Mobile gave its business entrepreneurs a chance to get dibs on this marvelous device first, retail sale will presume on February 11th. The OS upgrade for this device has already been leaked, and we have the scoop on it.

With this OS upgrade, it is speculated that users will be able to make ringtones louder and the Curves battery life will be considerably improved. We must caution our readers however, that downloading this file onto your device can possibly welcome some sort of risks. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 featured as the slimmest device in BlackBerry’s line-up has a full QWERTY keyboard, runs on a 3G network, entails Wi-Fi capabilities, takes snaps of pictures with a 3.2 megapixel camera, and offers a delightful internet experience as it uses an HTML browser to surf the web.

Sling Media’s SlingPlayer Mobile Is Now Available For BlackBerry Smartphones

The 2009 CES is bringing in a lot of good news for all of us techie freaks. The latest buzz is that Sling Media Inc. has announced that the beta release of SlingMedia Mobile on select BlackBerry smartphones from RIM (Research In Motion). SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry smartphones is now available to Slingbox customers in the UK, the US and Canada. What is more, this can be downloaded free of cost during the public beta period.

SlingPlayer Mobile, which requires BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 or greater, gives the user an amazing home TV experience of local channels, news and events, pay per view and so on, right on his BlackBerry smartphone, employing a standard network 3G Cellular, WiFi connection. In addition to this, SlingPlayer Mobile lets the user manipulate his home digital video recorder and play them as per his preferences.
