LG Electronics now exults that it has sold over 5 million LG-KP500 “Cookie” phones on a global basis over the last nine months. The sweet and slim Cookie is a full touch phone that comes with 3D accelerator and 3MP camera, besides other features.
LG hopes to reach the 10 million sales mark for the Cookie by the end of 2009. LG has now added on 10 more colors too, which itself shows how much this mobile phone is in demand.
LG announced today that its affordable full touchscreen handset, LG Cookie (LG-KP500), has already recorded over two million unit sales worldwide. More than 1.2 million LG Cookie handsets have sold in Europe and 600,000 in Asia. This handset is quite the rage in Korea, with 100,000 units in accumulated sales as of March this year and record one-day sales of 4,500 units. The company plans to expand Cookie’s availability from 40 to 60 countries as part of its push to hit 10 million in sales worldwide.
The LG Cookie has a sleek, slim 11.9 mm body. Originally released in four bright colors including Black, Vandyke Brown, Anodizing Silver, and Elegant Gold, the line-up now includes ten different colors. LG plans to bake more delicious Cookies soon, with more varying color and flavor options to match a variety of personal tastes.
LG KP500 aka Cookie is a touchscreen phone with a 3 inch vivid screen, a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 and a FM radio. It’s a quad-band GSM capable phone and supports around 39 languages.
