22 new handsets in 4 series at NTT DoCoMo – docomo STYLE, PRIME, SMART and PRO series

Japanese telecommunications company has revealed its upcoming range of mobile phones and smartphones for winter season. The new line-up of handsets will include 4 series: docomo STYLE series (F-02A, N-02A, N-03A, P-02A, P-03A and SH-02A) – fashionable mobile phones in variety designs, docomo PRIME series (F-01A, F-03A, L-01A, N-01A, P-01A, SH-01A and SH-03A) – phones dedicated to multimedia, docomo SMART series (F-04A, N-04A, P-04A and P-05A) – for business professionals, and docomo PRO series (HT-01A, HT-02A, SH-04A, BlackBerry Bold and Nokia E71) – a range of smartphones.

The series will be launched between dates November 19th 2008 and ending March 2009. We will not describe specifications of each phone but we can say what NTT DoCoMo has improved on its new portfolio. Customers will get now handsets with: i-concier – an automatic provision and update of info according to the user’s individual preferences, i-Widget – an access to up to 8 frequently used Widget Appli applications, i-appli – real-time communication, gaming with multiple users, and Enhanced map services – now compatible with mobile version of Google Maps Street View.

Most of these new handsets will also feature Bluetooth, touch-screen, a mobile web browser with flash support, 7.2 Mbps and 3G high-speeds, and support to download multiple image files. Users will also welcome microSD support as well as infrared capability. Ufone launches BlackBerry Bold smartphone in Pakistan

After Mobilink it’s Ufone which has partnered with RIM to offer exclusive for Postpay customers BlackBerry Bold smartphone together with Emitac Mobile Solution, a RIM strategic channel partner. BlackBerry Bold smartphone supports heaps of wireless options on the quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900). It is technically better than previous model because of its 624MHz Intel PXA270 processor, whereas previous BlackBerry had only 312MHz processor.

If you look at its multimedia features Bold has a 2 megapixel camera with video-recording capabilities and up to 5x zoom, a media player which supports numerous of audio and video formats, including MP3, WMA, AAC, DivX4, and WMV3 files.

BlackBerry Bold is equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack with 128MB of flash memory and 1GB of onboard memory. User can edit Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint files directly from their handset using the preloaded DataViz Documents to Go software suite.

The BlackBerrry Bold is exclusively available for Postpay customers with Ufone for monthly subscription fee Rs. 900 + tax.

AT&T and BlackBerry Bold – finally ready for U.S. customers with free AT&T Wi-Fi

We have already mentioned that AT&T plans to launch RIM’s BlackBerry Bold in the U.S. but today it’s official.  The Bold has a half-VGA color display, full QWERTY keyboard, 624 MHz mobile processor, 1 GB on board and up to 16 GB via its microSD/SDHC expansion slot.

The BlackBerry Bold operates on AT&T’s 3G BroadbandConnect network, which is available in more than 320 major metropolitan areas in the U.S. Customers can use the Bold in more than 200 countries and access data in more than 150, including more than 60 with 3G networks. It’s already available for 300 USD in AT&T retail stores.
