Google Gives Android Coders The Native Development Kit

Google has now given coders the native development kit for Android version 1.5, in order to get them write apps for the Android platform. The NDK will give the coders a new vista to create newer applications for the medium. This version will help them include compatibility with C and C++.

The set of tools currently available may not fit for all apps, but will definitely aid the developers to make good use of signal and data processing. Additionally, all apps developed with the help of this NDK 1.5 will be perfectly compatible with Android 1.5 and all future versions of the platform as well.

T-Mobile G1 Users In The UK Are Getting Android 1.5 Updates

A few T-Mobile G1 users from the Android Community forum have reportedly received the latest cupcake updates from T-Mobile UK. The over-the-air updates are about 44MB in size and will update the Android to version 1.5. There are also many others in UK did not receive these update notifications yet, but should be getting the same by end May.

The new Android 1.5 is adding a soft QWERTY keyboard to allow text input via the touchscreen. It will also add the ability to upload photo / video directly to Picasa and YouTube from the G1 device.
