Alcatel, never really known for high-end handsets, has now introduced cheap touchscreen and QWERTY-style mobile phones, the OT-707 and the OT-800. The Alcatel OT-707 claims to be a full touchscreen mobile phone. As you can see in the picture, the 2.3” QVGA TFT display of the Alcatel OT-707 only takes up three-quarters of the front, while the rest is surrounded by lusterless black matte plastic. Besides, the phone also supports GSM, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth and 10MB of internal memory. If you intend to use the OT-707, however, you will have to put up with GPRS – you cannot expect EDGE. The good thing about this phone, though, is that it is available at a mere 100 EUR, which is about $127.
The slightly cheaper option is the Alcatel OT-800, a full QWERTY phone, that the company claims, will be available in a range of bright colors during its release. The good news is that the keyboard is fully functional. Besides, this phone has a quadband EDGE radio, which means you may even be able to take it stateside, if you so wish. Nothing has been said about the official release dates as yet.

Nothing really advanced about them, but you are sure to like their utility value if you are not after those over-the-top high-end mobile phones.
