Sling Media’s SlingPlayer Mobile Is Now Available For BlackBerry Smartphones

The 2009 CES is bringing in a lot of good news for all of us techie freaks. The latest buzz is that Sling Media Inc. has announced that the beta release of SlingMedia Mobile on select BlackBerry smartphones from RIM (Research In Motion). SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry smartphones is now available to Slingbox customers in the UK, the US and Canada. What is more, this can be downloaded free of cost during the public beta period.

SlingPlayer Mobile, which requires BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 or greater, gives the user an amazing home TV experience of local channels, news and events, pay per view and so on, right on his BlackBerry smartphone, employing a standard network 3G Cellular, WiFi connection. In addition to this, SlingPlayer Mobile lets the user manipulate his home digital video recorder and play them as per his preferences.

Rogers Has Officially Unleashed The BlackBerry Curve 8900

Rogers has officially launched the BlackBerry 8900 in addition to their extensive mobile lineup. The 8900 Curve features a unique style that resembles that of the Bold, only it carries on the oh so well liked qualities and picturesque of the Curve.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 for Rogers Mobile offers and supports UMA (A Talk Spot feature offered on the Rogers network), GPS, Wi-Fi, a full QWERTY keyboards for all your professional/personal emailing and texting needs, and a 2.4in high quality and resolution HVGA screen.

Rogers is offering the BlackBerry Curve 8900 with a media player that allows you to feel as though you have endless possibilities, a 3.2 Megapixel camera incorporating the auto focus, flash, zoom features, with video capabilities. The 8900 has the ability to hold 16GB of information within its memory.

Rogers plans on offering the BlackBerry Curve 8900 for $549.99 with a 1 year contract, $499.99 for 2-years, and $179.99 exclusively with a 3-year contract as long as a minimum of $45 voice and data plan are included.

T-Mobile Germany receives RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 8900

Before U.S., the Germany will get the new Curve 8900 smartphone, a successor to 8300 model, for T-Mobile customers. The QWERTZ handset with 2.4″ HVGA+ (480×360 pixels) vivid display features a multimedia capability including video support of DivX, XviD (MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile), H.263, and WMV3 files as well as audio files 3gp, WAV, MIDI, AMR-NB, G711u/A, GSM610, PCM, MP3, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, and WMA9/10 Standard/Pro.

This Wi-Fi and GPS capable phone sports a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus, digital zoom and flash, 256MB of flash memory, and microSD/SDHC expandable memory slot for up to 16GB cards. With a 512MHz processor it works in quad-band GSM/EDGE network. T-Mobile customers can buy the device in the following days and it will cost a one-time charge of 4.95 EUR with a 2-year contract on the Relax 200 Plus rate with BlackBerry Webmail S and 360 EUR without contract.
