Strange-looking Nokia With US 3G Okayed By FCC – May Be The Mako

Take a look at the pic below. What do you think of it? Pretty strange-looking object, right? Well, this one’s a phone from Nokia, which has recently gotten FCC documentation.

The Nokia RM-599, as it is called now, has WCDMA on Bands II and V, which seem to be for use on the North American 3G network. Considering the ID label here, we think we might be actually looking at the Mako for AT&T. This, of course, means that the phone has managed to clear some of the initial hurdles. We still have no idea as to what AT&T is doing with it at the moment, but we get the feeling we’ll see the release of this one sooner or later.
