Sprint Delivers the Most Mobile Episodes Of Network TV Shows In Full Length and On Demand
These shows will be available on Sprint TV on the day after they first appear on television. Additionally, the season premieres of ABC’s “Lost” and CBS’ “Jericho” are expected to launch in early 2008 and will be available on Sprint at that time. Customers will generally be able to access the four most recently televised episodes for each ABC series and the most recently televised episode for each CBS series. For downloadable images of these shows on Sprint phones, visit this press release at www.sprint.com/newsroom.
Sprint’s record-breaking amount of on-demand full-length shows is the latest example of the increasing popularity of video on mobile phones. Analyst firm IDC predicts that the 7 million Americans who watch mobile TV today will increase more than three times to 24 million in the next three years.*
The on-demand shows can be found within the Sprint TV application on the main menu of Sprint’s Power Vision devices. The shows are included in the Sprint Power Vision TV Pack, which costs an additional $20 per month (casual usage charges would apply for access to these applications without a data plan).
Sprint TV’s extensive selection allows customers to choose content in whatever form is best for them, including:
- on-demand (which can be watched at any time, such as the ABC and CBS episodes)
- linear (which streams continuous scheduled programming throughout the day, such as content from the Disney Channel)
- simulcast (which shows identical programming on the phone and on television at the same time, such as the “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric”)
