Omnia fight begun – Korea to bring its T*OMNIA SCH-M490/M495 phone
It seems like countries have started to fight together, which of them to bring a better version of the Omnia phone. A few days ago it was Japan that revealed its Omnia with improved screen and TV tuner, but today, Korea wins. Their T*OMNIA will feature 3.3″ WVGA touch-screen same like Japanese model with 480 x 800, and satellite DMB TV receiver.
But why is the Korean version better? It will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, and even it will have aGPS and Wi-Fi. And that Japanese version is missing. Other features are still the same like HSDPA 7.2Mbps and quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz), 5 megapixel CMOS camera with autofocus and flash, multimedia files support, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, USB 2.0, 4GB/16GB of user memory (M490/M495 model) and microSD card support.
In summary, the T*OMNIA is also little bit larger than its competitors. It measures 115.2 x 58.1 x 13.65 mm and weighs 131 g. With 1440 mAh battery the T*OMNIA provides 550/510 hours of standby time in GSM/WCDMA, and 570/270 minutes of talk time in GSM/WCDMA system. The handset will be available in the half of this month through SK Telecom but the price has not been unveiled yet.
