Lenovo’s new Ophone

If someone were to tell you that the iPhone and Google G1 phones have been entered into a mobile “beauty pageant” along with a phone manufactured by Lenovo and that they might actually loose, you’d probably look at them with a perplexed expression and deem that impossible since Lenovo is stationed in China and it is known that some of the most horrific-looking phones give birth here.

Well behold, iPhone’s new beautiful competition the Lenovo Ophone. This phone’s physical design is groundbreaking and absolutely overshadows that of the Android-based G1 phone. This is mobile device specifically designed to comply with China Mobile’s Open Mobile System combining an Android core with the service and apps of the carrier’s TD-SCDMA 3G network.

To break it down for you, this means that the Ophone will never (or at least until hacked) see light outside of its originating country, China. Hopefully HTC (known for its unique designs) has something in the works that’ll make us all forget about the Ophone.
