iPhone gets Google Earth

Google is much more than a competitor which Apple can ever perceive them. Though Google can miss its toolbar for its own product (Google Chrome) but it haven’t left iPhone lovers to miss its G-Maps application. Google has announced its Google Earth application for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. So users can now search for cities, places and business around the globe with Google Local Search and if they like they can tilt their iPhone to adjust their view to see mountainous terrain, a panoramic layer etc. They can even browse millions of geo-located photos from around the world or read Wikipedia articles.

Google Earth iPhone version has a small webkit-based browser which shows the specific information when users click on. So with the application installed on iPhone, when user clicks the address of a business, iPhone will instantly show it on the Google Maps application. It also includes a link to the Safari browser Apple builds into the iPhone.

This application is free to use and is available in all languages which iPhone currently supports. It will be soon released for 22 countries in total. To get the application visit the App Store in iTunes http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=293622097&mt=8.
