HTC expands its smartphone lineup with new S740
HTC today introduced its new S740 smartphone with QWERTY keyboard in UK. The S740 is a stylish and slim handset. With 7.2 Mbps it allows you to download 18 times faster than with 3G. The device sports 2.4″ QVGA screen which is not touch type like its successors. S740 comes with 1000 mAh battery which provides up to 320 minutes (WCDMA) / up to 380 minutes (GSM) talk times, and up to 400 hours (WCDMA) / up to 280 hours (GSM) of standby times.
The smartphone also features FM radio, Google Maps, RSS Hub, mini-USB and audio jack in one, USB 2.0, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, WLAN 802.11b/g, microSD card support. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s MSM7225 528 MHz CPU and also includes 256 MB flash and 256 MB RAM. On the back you can also find a 3.2 megapixel camera for photos and video recording.
HTC will launch this 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm and 140g device running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard in September 2008 for Europe although the price has not been announced yet.
