HP unveils two new smartphones - iPAQ Data Messenger and iPAQ Voice Messenger
It’s a long time since we last posted a news item on HP mobiles. HP has recently revealed its new smartphone entrants which have emerged on HP’s website. These two new versions are iPAQ Data Messenger and iPAQ Voice Messenger. Both these devices run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard Edition.
HP iPAQ Data Messenger is a Windows Mobile 6.1 standard device featuring 65K colours touch screen display with 320 x 240 pixel, LED backlight and a slide-out keyboard. HP Data Messenger smartphone is 160g and 5.7 x 1.74 x 11.4 cm, and has a 2.5mm headphone jack, aGPS, a 3.1-megapixel camera with LED flash. Data Messenger comes with classic 2.8 inch QVGA screen , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Quadband GSM, Tri-band 7.2 Mbps HSDPA (European bands), and HSUPA. This smartphone is bundled with Opera mobile and Google maps (30 day trial ) enough to run on 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM, a microSD expansion, with a 1140 mAh battery.
HP iPAQ Voice Messenger is almost similar to the Data Messenger model but differs when it some to keyboard. Featuring a 20 key sure type-style keyboard iPAQ Voice Messenger gives an ultra look however its a non-touchscreen phone with Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard device like iPAQ Data Messenger. The connectivity and GPS receiver is the same, but the device is little lighter at 107 g and measures 5.0 x 1.36 x 11.4 cm. Despite this it features a larger 1260 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery. iPAQ Voice Messenger has a 2.4” transmissive TFT with 64K colours and 320 x 240 pixel non-touch screen display with LED back light and integrated WLAN 802.11b/g with WPA2 security, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR. Its camera includes integrated 3.1 megapixel with autofocus and 5x digital zoom.
Price wise Voice Messenger may come for €399 ($532) on November 5th and the Data Messenger for €499 ($665) on November 22nd and would be available through Vodafone in the Netherland.
