First Windows Mobile 6.5 Smartphone Launched On The Sly

If Microsoft could help it, Windows Mobile 6.5 wouldn’t be coming to a retail device for a few months yet, and if HTC could help it, manufacturers wouldn’t be duplicating its devices. But in this world ridden with plagiarism, a quick search on the internet could take you to a cooked 6.5 ROM. Yet another search could give you a lowdown on the shockingly numerous low-cost rips of much sought-after branded handsets.

So why are we giving you all this extra gyan? Well, the latest such knockoff is that of the Touch Viva. It is apparently based on a white-labeled Huawei platform that offers some kind of 460MHz core, quadband EDGE, a 3.2 megapixel cam, WiFi, and a 2.8-inch QVGA display.

This thingy has an utterly inconsequential design and spec sheet, but costs only about $160 or so. There is one thing here though – you will definitely make history if you ever purchased this handset!
