China will get first Internet Explorer Mobile 6

According to Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Director Scott Rockfeld, Microsoft is partnering up with China Mobile to deliver Internet Explorer on Samsung Omnia phones. China Mobile was chosen as the first operator to get mobile IE6 because the software giant hopes to tap the vast growth in the number of new mobile users in the country.

Microsoft actually aims towards a faster growth than the market by aiming to strategically invest in new users rather than converting existing users of the competing phones like the iPhone or Google’s Android.

Last week Microsoft released its emulator images for IE6 for Windows Mobile touting its browser as first “full-fledged” mobile browser which is capable of rendering richer content. Omnia runs a customized version of the Windows Mobile. Microsoft announced its China Mobile partnership at Mobile Asia Congress which was held in Macau.

NOTE: I created a picture of Samsung Omnia with Internet Explorer Mobile shown below for imagination.
