The BlackBerry 8520 will also be available with Orange and Carphone Warehouse as well. The latter will offer this cutie in a different shade – violet. Just for your information, the 8520, also hailed as the Gemini, is coming to T-Mobile USA on the 5th of August (most probably). Now Vodafone UK Romances The BlackBerry 8520 Too

We at PhoneArea were pleasantly surprised when we learnt that Vodafone UK was launching a non-3G smartphone this year, the BlackBerry 8520. Of course, this is in rumor stage yet, but considering the image below, it looks like Vodafone UK will go the T-Mobile USA way, by promoting RIM’s latest QWERTY device, the BlackBerry 8520.

Further news is that Vodafone UK plans to sell this entry-level device at an “affordable price”. This is set to launch in August, alongside T-Mobile’s own launch. Stay tuned for more on this, folks.

Vodafone UK Users Get Free Facebook

Vodafone UK announced in a press conference that its customers will now get access to Facebook for free through their mobile phones or PCs by using the Vodafone broadband service. This offer lasts a whole week, starting July 24. Vodafone UK has started with Free Mobile Internet in May, then went on to the daily 50p rate to browse mobile Internet, then continued with Free Music Friday in June, with Vodafone being the first carrier to launch DRM-free music. Free Facebook is the very first service to last a whole week.

Connecting to other sites with Vodafone’s mobile broadband service will be chargeable, though. That is the standard 50p per day, as usual. Visit and sign in to www.facebook.com/mobile for more info on the free offer. Goto www.vodafone.co.uk/facebook to know more about the promotion and set up notification alerts. if you would like to know which of your friends is using the service, simply SMS ‘Friends’ to 97886.
