SoftBank Mobile today announced the availability of the Panasonic 921P VIERA and Sharp 824SH Active Line, which go on sale on Saturday, August 2. The first model, 921P featuring VIERA video technology by Panasonic, provides a high-quality images on the 3.1″ VGA TFT LCD display with 480 × 854 pixels as well as the external 0.9″ display with 128 × 36 pixels. On the back of the handset you can find 5.1 megapixel CMOS camera, and 0.33 megapixel CMOS one on the sub side. The 921P supports up to 8 GB microSDHC card and works with W-CDMA system, GSM system (900/1800/1900 MHz). The handset is available in 6 colors: Gold, Silver, Black, Purple, Mint green, and Pink.
The second model, Sharp 824SH Active Line is an elegant 1-Seg phone, slim 15.3mm and weighing approximately 127g. The 824SH features a 2.8″ QVGA ASV LCD (240 × 400 pixel) internal display and 0.5″ (60 × 32 pixel) Organic EL external display. This phone is also equipped with 3.2 megapixel CMOS camera supporting AF, and up to 2 GB microSD and up to 4 GB microSDHC card support. It works in W-CDMA system, GSM system (900/1800/1900 MHz), and provides 250 minutes of talk time / 340 hours of standby time in W-CDMA, and 230 minutes of talk time / 310 hours of standby time in GSM network. The Sharp 824SH will be sold also in 6 color variants: Black and orange, Black and pink, White and silver, Pink and silver, Silver and green metal, and Silver and blue metal.

Another Japanese cellular company is going to release a new phone on Saturday July 26, but for now by Panasonic. The MIRROR II 824P SoftBank is 1-Seg phone which is featured by changing surface colors. Large 3″ internal QVGA TFT LCD with 240 × 427 dots provides up to 260k colors and external 0.77″ 96 × 25 dots is Organic color EL1 type. The phone is equipped with a 2 megapixel CMOS camera with auto focus, built-in memory with up to 80 MB, microSD up to 2 GB and microSDHC up to 8 GB support, music player. The 824P works with W-CDMA system and provides 220 minutes of talk time and 600 hours of standby time. Its size is 49 × 107 × 15.9mm and weighs approximately 118g. The MIRROR II 824P is available in 5 various colors: Midnight Purple, Crystal Silver, Deep Pink, Champagne Gold and Ruby Red.

Ericsson announced that it has signed an agreement with a leading Japanese operator, Softbank Mobile, to expand and upgrade its HSPA network in Japan to increase capacity and enable even faster mobile broadband.
Fredrik Alatalo, President, Ericsson Japan says: “We are extremely happy to expand our business with Softbank and to support them in providing high speed mobile broadband in the Japanese market.”
HSPA is the world’s most widely deployed mobile broadband technology and Ericsson will expand it on new and existing base stations in the high traffic areas of Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.
Panasonic introduced its new SoftBank 823P 3G phone in Japan. The phone features 2-megapixel camera supporting JPEG / EXIF2.2 format, video function enabling up to up to 30 fps, 3 inch 260k TFT QVGA display. Its dimensions are 50 × 108 × 17.6 mm and it weighs approximately 132 g with a battery. (more…)
