Nissan, Sharp and NTT DoCoMo have already developed new Intelligent Key technology which will be integrated to a handset. Based on this, the handset will be sold through NTT DoCoMo. This technology is already used in more than 950,000 automobiles of Nissan since 2002.
The Intelligent Key integrated in the prototype handset (pictured below) will be able to lock/unlock car door and start/stop the engine. The prototype will be introduced at CEATEC Japan 2008 which begins September 30.

NTT DOCOMO today unveiled availability of Sharp’s 3G phone, the SH706iw which will be sold on Monday, September 1. The SH706iw comes equipped with a 3″ full wide VGA LCD screen with 480 × 854 pixels, a 2 megapixel CMOS camera with autofocus on the back side, microSD and microSDHC support.
The phone has been already unveiled in the end of May 2008 together with other 19 handsets. It has a compact size, about 109 x 17.8 x 50 mm and it weighs 119 g. With this phone you can call 195 minutes (in 3G), standby about 490 hours or make a video call in 105 min. NTT DOCOMO offers this handset in 2 colors: white and brown, however price has not been announced yet.
Sharp SH706iw
Sharp’s newest addition to its smartphone range, the WILLCOM 03 (WS020SH) will be available in Japan stores in September 11. The handset is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Classic, of course in Japanese location. The WILLCOM 03 sports a 3″ ASV LCD display with 800 × 480 pixels, Marvell PXA270 520MHz processor, Opera Mobile 9.5 and Internet Explorer Mobile browsers, a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus.
The phone has been already unveiled in May 2008, but it will be available next month in the following pricing options: bulk version for 63,120 yen, a split purchase 24 months x 2,630 yen. In addition, the WILLCOM 03 features a mobile office like: Excel Mobile, Power Point Mobile, Word Mobile, Adobe Reader, and it’s available in 3 color choices: Pink Tone, Lime Tone and Gold Tone.

NTT DOMOCO today launched Sharp’s newest handset, the SH706ie in Japan. The SH706ie is a 1-Seg phone featuring a 3.2 megapixel CMOS camera with autofocus, 2.8″ 262k QVGA ASV LCD internal display with 240 × 400 pixels and 0.8″ organic EL external one with 39 × 96 pixel resolution.
The device also includes microSD support up to 2GB and 3G support, which brings about 175 minutes of talk time. Measuring 106 x 16.1 x 48 mm and weighing 106 g it provides approximately 580 hours of standby time and 120 minutes of TV. The new Sharp SH706ie is available today in 3 colors variants: Formal Pink, Formal White, and Formal Black.
