NTT DOCOMO is now offering the Fujitsu F-01A; it is the first fingerprint-enabled and waterproof cell phone that has been made available for the public. This device uses AuthenTec’s TrueNav Technology to incorporate the AES1711 fingerprint sensor.
The F-01A has been modeled after the Symbian operating system; it features a 3.5-inch widescreen VGA display with touchscreen, it comes with a 5.2 megapixel camera with an AutoFocus feature. It also has built-in GPS utilizing Google Maps technology; it has e-Wallet mobile payment capabilities as well. More than 9 million people use AuthenTec’s sensors to diversify their personal privacy on their devices. A part from fingerprint security the F-01A is also waterproof, allowing your device to stay safe in tolerable water conditions.

DOCOMO and Fujitsu announced yesterday that they have jointly developed a mobile phone especially for the Taiwanese market. This phone is based on the FOMA F905i model, which is currently open only to the Japanese market. This new model, which is the first one to be jointly developed by DOCOMO and Fujitsu, has also been named F905i and has been launched by Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Ltd.
The F905i lets users view and input the Traditional Chinese character set of alphabets, which is the standard handwriting system in Taiwan. It also enables users access FET’s i-mode mobile Internet service in the local language.
The F905i gives users advanced features such as 3.2” VGA two-position display, 3.2MP camera and uses Fujitsu’s technology for fantastic audio reception.

Just a few days back, we had mentioned about the new VERTU line of luxury phones hitting the market soon. Now, VERTU, known for its quality handcrafted luxury phones, has finally signed a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) deal with NTT DOCOMO in order to provide its customers with great communication services. Commencing in the second half of 2009, VERTU, in partnership with DOCOMO, will also release a premium membership card called the VERTU Club. The company will announce details of the VERTU Club shortly.
VERTU really seems to be hell-bent on making a grand foray into the market, as the company also plans to open its Ginza Flagship Store, its very first store in Japan, on 19th February 2009. Pre-orders of handsets will be taken in the store once the VERTU Club is ready.
