According to some leaked reports, the Samsung Omnia 2 and the LG Chocolate Touch BL40 are supposedly gearing for release on August 23rd. A snapshot of a leaked document from Best Buy seems to indicate this news. According to these reports, the BL40 and the Omnia 2 will be released side-by-side. A veritable clash of the titans, we say!
There are supposedly some other devices on release too, including the Samsung Rogue, Solstice and a red Xenon. There is also the mention of a Samsung Tour – we don’t quite understand that, since it’s already released on Sprint and Verizon. Samsung’s “green phone”, the Reclaim, is also set for release on August 16. Hmm, looks like a good, interesting list out here. We’re just hoping all this info is true….
The LG BL40 Chocolate hone, the latest offering from LG Electronics, comes with a 4” wide screen, HSDPA, WiFi and aGPS. The second-generation Chocolate phone is very slim and svelte to look at too.

Mobile world seems to be steadily filling up with watch phones these days. While the LG GD910 watch phone is soon coming to Europe next month, Samsung is busy promoting its own S9110 device (did you notice the strange similarity in the numbers, by any chance?). The S9110, which Samsung claims is the slimmest watch phone so far, is only 11.98mm thick. The LG GD910 is 13.9mm thick.
The Samsung S9110, which the company introduced at a press release, comes with GSM dualband network, 1.76” touchscreen display, Bluetooth and speakerphone. This device, though, lacks 3G. The S9110 will retail at about 450 EUR, which is about $639. The S9110 will be introduced in France this month.
The FCC files now include one more smartphone, the LG GW600. This is a Windows Mobile device, which is headed towards AT&T in the US.
Other specs of the GW600 include 3.1MP camera, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD slot, headphone jack and a 20-key QWERTY keyboard. This news, though, has not yet been officially confirmed by either LG or AT&T. Well, we’re waiting as always….
