Alltel has now officially announced the availability of the Motorola VE465. The VE465 cellphone first appeared on Alltel’s web site last week, though it had not been officially announced back then.

The Motorola VE465 is a flip phone that has a 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth and EV-DO. It supports microSD cards up to 4GB and is compatible with Alltel’s Celltop service as well. The Motorola VE465 is priced at $50 with a new agreement.

Alltel Wireless see to it that their customers are always in touch with their near and dear ones. Now, by promoting LG Banter, Alltel is making life even easier for its clients. The LG Banter features a full sliding QWERTY keyboard for easy texting and also a chat-type interface. The LG Banter is also preloaded with Alltel Email, Yahoo! IM and AOL IM. The other features include a 1.3MP camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth Wireless, Alltel Navigation and a MicroSD expandable memory slot.

Alltel Wireless is offering the LG Banter for $19.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate at Alltel retail stores and online at shopalltel.com. This discounted price is now available to new and existing customers who sign-up for a two-year service agreement. Customers may also receive the Alltel Hue II by Samsung or an additional LG Banter for free with activation of a second two-year agreement on a qualifying rate plan, while stocks last. Alltel Wireless also offers Anytime Plan Changes, which enables customers to change their calling plans at any time, without extending their contract.

Alltel has recently announced the introduction of the low-end, affordable LG Banter. The LG Banter, available at Alltel, features a full-QWERTY sliding keypad, QVGA display, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth and microSD slot. The good-looking slider also has changeable faceplates, which you can customize as per your mood.

The CDMA LG Banter, as you can see in the picture below, is very similar to the Sprint LG Rumor2. Only, this one is has a slightly different design. We still do not have information about pricing. The Rumor2 costs around $49.99, with a $50 mail-in rebate. Maybe the Banter will also cost somewhere around the same figure.

Verizon Wireless, in a joint venture with Verizon Communications and Vodafone, has now officially acquired Alltel Corporation from Atlantis Holdings LLC. This acquisition makes Verizon Wireless the largest wireless carrier in the United States and gives the company an additional customer strength of 12.9 million, making the total number of consumers go up to a whopping 83.7 million.

The company will continue to use the Alltel brand name for some months, till it integrates networks and billing systems and also upgrades its wireless broadband services. Verizon Wireless will also keep in existence Alltel’s existing GSM network so as to service the customers’ roaming needs. Alltel customers will soon have access to the largest national mobile-to-mobile calling community, so that they can talk to Verizon Wireless customers using their mobile-to-mobile minutes, without spending their plan minutes.
