Adobe and AIR announce Flash 10 for Mobile Devices

We are getting news for Adobe’s new mobile version from Adobe developers conference in San Francisco. Adobe and AIR have announced that they are working together to bring  Adobe Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR to ARM powered devices. This new partnership aims to develop consistent run time environment to provide ease of publishing content and applications across desktops and consumer devices which includes phones, mobile Internet devices, and set-top boxes.

From development point of view Adobe and AIR aim target the ARMv6 and ARMv7 architectures used in ARM11 processors as well as the upcoming Cortex-A series processors. This development will significantly decrease power consumption for mobile devices.

Adobe Flash for mobiles has been an aim for Adobe Systems because majority of mobile phones use Flash Lite at the moment. Adobe plans to demonstrate this technology during its developers conference however the technology is not expected to be available until the second half of 2009.
