Acer announced a whole bunch of Windows Mobile-based smartphones earlier this year and had previously indicated that they would enter the retail market before the end of 2009.

But now, it seems as though Acer’s plans to enter the U.S. smartphone market have changed a wee bit. Acer has now announced that it has run into snags with U.S. network operators, and they will result in a delayed launch. The best Acer would commit to saying is that its smartphones will be available in the U.S. some time in 2010.
