We at PhoneArea were pleasantly surprised when we learnt that Vodafone UK was launching a non-3G smartphone this year, the BlackBerry 8520. Of course, this is in rumor stage yet, but considering the image below, it looks like Vodafone UK will go the T-Mobile USA way, by promoting RIM’s latest QWERTY device, the BlackBerry 8520.
Further news is that Vodafone UK plans to sell this entry-level device at an “affordable price”. This is set to launch in August, alongside T-Mobile’s own launch. Stay tuned for more on this, folks.
The latest gaffe from Palm and Best Buy has (sadly) just been corrected. Best Buy’s most recent ads of the Palm Pre showed the smartphone’s price as a mere $99, along with a 2-year contract. Needless to say, we were more than just a little thrilled – imagine getting that gorgeous baby at such low rates!
Too bad our thrill was short-lived, for Best Buy marketing manager John Bernier has now declared that the “pricing was an error” and that it has now been corrected. Well, we wonder whether someone actually managed to get this cutie for the aforementioned rate. Any lucky guys out there among you? Let us know.
