LG Electronics has unleashed its latest LG GW520, a social networking device. The GW520 features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes messaging convenient and a unique “push” social networking element to help people keep in touch.
Thanks to the high-speed 3G HSDPA data connectivity, users can access their email and attachments easier than ever. This device also includes a 3MP camera which can take clear photographs, plus a 2.8-inch touchscreen display.
The phone also includes LG’s LiveSquare, which allows users to add custom animated characters to their homescreen to represent their loved ones. The GW520 ‘pushes’ social networking updates to users so they’re able to instantly see what their favorite people are up to, as well. The LG GW520 will be available across most UK networks in June.
Verizon Wireless has officially announced that it will be releasing the long-awaited RIM BlackBerry Storm firmware update to users on Sunday, May 31. The update is known as version 4.7.0.148, and it will be available on the World Wide Web, starting at 3PM EDT from the BlackBerry update website.
Verizon has additionally mentioned that it will release the update to customers as an over-the-air download starting at 10PM EDT, after which time customers can use the over the air update for their Storm smartphones by going to Options> Advanced Options > Wireless Updates on their device.
Verizon has not specified what enhancements and bug fixes the update deals with. It has only generally stated that it “improves the overall user experience.”
