Unlike the traditional [insert flash format here]-to-USB adapters, Elan’s latest Mobidapter now provides a direct bridge from your microSD slot to your external USB hard drive. The result? Extremely simple smartphone backups and file transfers, all without the need to employ your PC’s services in the middle.

Elan claims that the currently unpriced device will begin shipping in mid-June, and if you’re still baffled about how this thing operates, check the video demonstration and you will realize how truly simple all this is.
When Nokia unveiled its N86 back in February, we had no idea whatsoever that a US release was on the cards. But now, it sure looks like a stateside launch is a lot closer, now that the said handset has made its way through the officious doorways of the FCC.
