The projector phone concept has still not gained that much importance in the mobile market. But China’s own SCT Optronics has now come out with the new LitPhone projector phone, a GSM handset that sports CMMB TV tuning, a touchscreen and a built-in projector with an undisclosed native resolution.
Additionally, the company also demonstrated its USB-powered PCLit mobile projector at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, which debuted alongside Join Technology’s JP77 and WE3 Technology’s WE8626.

Microsoft, it is rumored, is all set to “launch” Windows Mobile 6.5 at the Tech Ed 2009 event. Tech Ed takes place in Los Angeles and goes on from May 11 through May 15.
We do not know what exactly a Windows Mobile 6.5 “launch” entails. The smartphone operating system was officially unveiled during the Mobile World Congress event that took place this past February. Perhaps the company is planning to show the final version of the system, which has still been going through changes since the February showing.
Maybe we will also see some sort of device launch to coincide with Tech Ed, but Microsoft has made no mention of such as of yet.

The Apple iPhone definitely has shortcomings in the video output department. The iPhone and iPhone 3G are only capable of barely-HD 480i video-out resolutions, making movie playback or watching TV shows on large TVs rather inadequate. But there is good news about the upcoming launch of the third-generation iPhone. There are reports that confirm that future iPhone and iPod Touch hardware will be capable of playing back full-HD video at 720p and 1080i resolutions!
It is rumored that Apple has advised its Apple Authorized Resellers to start clearing out any remaining Composite AV Cable and Apple Component AV Cable stock. The move is aimed at cutting down inventory ahead of the introduction of Apple’s new Apple AV Cable, which consolidates the functions of both the Composite and Component AV iPhone-cables. Apple is also apparently looking to shift focus from the Apple TV to the iPhone. By endowing the iPhone lineup with true HD-output, Apple will be looking to redefine the iPhone as the most convenient way to bring digital media to the TV screen. The iPhone can stream videos from your computer and so you have almost limitless storage capacity for HD videos.
It’s not clear when the Apple AV Cable will become available – maybe after the official launch of its new iPhone.
