Dolby-Powered LG GM200 Looks Just Okay, But Sounds Fabulous

Dolby has been getting really popular in the mobile market these days, thanks to the company’s tie-up with LG Electronics. The Dolby-powered LG GM200 is your usual boring candybar style phone. There is nothing out of the ordinary as far as the form factor goes.

The LG GM200 shines, though, because you can use its FM Radio without headphones plugged in. The sound is that brilliant. You can also use it with the headset if that is what you prefer. Similar to the Motorola CrystalTalk, the LG GM200 automatically regulates the earpiece volume, depending on ambient noise, a feature that LG probably attributes to its work with Dolby. This phone also offers a 2MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, EDGE and, of course, the envy of one and all around.

Samsung Takes Beat DJ Style Downmarket, With Its M2310 and M2710 Cell Phones

If you have always admired the Samsung Beat DJ but been scared off by its high price tag, take heart, because the company has now come up with two new phones, the M2310 and the M2710. Both these cellphones ape the Beat DJ’s style, but adopt a flip and slider forms respectively. Samsung has not officially announced either of the phones, but they are already starting to show up in Brazil with EDGE, FM radio and Bluetooth.

The Samsung M2710 also has an accelerometer and 2MP camera. Nothing has been known yet about the pricing and availability of the phones. Sigh, that means, we will just have to wait impatiently for the official news to surface.
