T-Mobile G1 Is Available At Amazon For A Mere $97

Have you been waiting in the hope that you would be able to strike a great deal on the T-Mobile G1? Well, you are in luck, as Amazon has just the deal for you right now, whereby you can grab your dream device at a throwaway price of $97. The catch here is that you will also have to become a new customer and sign up for a two-year contract, but think about it – it’s still worth it, right?

Along the way, you might want to pick up a copy of Chris Ziegler’s “T-Mobile G1 for Dummies” too. Oh, and one more thing – Amazon is only offering the Black T-Mobile G1 for this deal, not the white one.

Cupcake Android Update Will Be Coming To G1 in April

After weeks of waiting, T-Mobile’s officially stated that the “Cupcake” Android update will be coming to the G1 sometime in April this year. That means, there is only one month for this to happen. This update will help Android handset users to get an onscreen keyboard plus many other useful features to improve the performance of the handset that was launched last November.

The new features the G1 update will provide are voice and video recorder, the ability to save MMS attachments and stereo Bluetooth. We suspect this update will possibly come at the same time as the HTC Magic, which will also contain the “cupcake” software, but T-Mobile refused to comment on the same.

There have been enough lags and snags about this whole issue and we are hoping they get it right this time round.
