U2’s upcoming world tour to promote the album, ‘No Line on the Horizon’, is going to be sponsored by BlackBerry. We still have no idea about how much finance BlackBerry would have to shell out for this, but we all know that a U2 world tour does not come cheap, to put it very mildly. Of course, RIM has more than just a little spare money to spend, right?
U2 has officially stated that is very happy to be partnering with RIM, as it would definitely “lead to new and innovative ways to enhance the mobile music experience on the BlackBerry platform for U2 fans.” One can now expect to see more BlackBerry devices preloaded with U2 movies and music, maybe even U2 apps in the upcoming BlackBerry App World, in the very near future. U2 will kickstart the show in Barcelona, Spain, on the 30th of June.

The serial number of this iPhone OS 03.06.01_G powered device is YM649xxxxxx, which the seller says, corresponds to a factory in China and was made in week 49 of the year 2006.
The auction winner will get a second beta phone that does not power on quite yet, but maybe a few tweaks will fix the issue, to create an amazing secondary phone. The two units are currently up for $300 and one never knows how long the auction will go on, thanks to Apple’s recent reaction to get this device off the auction house. Maybe you should just give this thing a look and jump in into the bidding bandwagon, after all.

Google has just released its first Android Dev Phone 1 update, the Android 1.1, for its totally unlocked version of the G1. Most of the fixes in this update have to do with POP accounts. Also, paid apps are now supported with a catch and that is, that you will not be able to access any paid adds that use Android’s copy protection features. So ADP1 owners will have access to paid apps that do not have copy protection, but that does not come to a very large number at all.
There seems really no point in this exercise, coz this is not going to be able to stop piracy in any way. And anyway, buying a $400 SIM-unlocked phone that does not come with support does not seem such a great idea to build brand loyalty. What say you, guys?
