Touch Screen Patent Officially in Use by Apple

Apple has recently stated that it was going to become the undisputable owner of the all-so popular multi-touch technology, and it seems as though it isn’t too far off as it’s just reported their Patent No. 7479949 which patents all technology having to do with Apple’s touch screen and GUI (Graphical User Interface). This technology dates back as far as September 2007 and displays Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple) and a chief iPhone software director as the main founders.

This patent awards Apple all the rights of the iPhone’s touch screen including the swiping of the thumb to unlock the device, the pinching, and all other gestures harnessed by the iPhone. For this reason Palm and Apple have been singled out into a battle between both of their touch screen technologies, as it’s been said that Palm has supposedly mimicked Apple’s touch sensitive technology.

This device has a 5 megapixel camera, the lens is automatically covered (very similar to a digital camera) once you’re done taking your shot. The C903 will also feature PhotoFix, Face Detection, and smile shutter.

However, a recent shot of the C903’s back side has unveiled the use of Xenon Flash. This cyber shot phone will also require the use of a 2.4-inch TFT display screen with QVGA, and aGPS as well.

The LG VX9600 Coming to Verizon Wireless

The VX9600 Versa from LG is just around the corner. It features a 2MP camera and a generous 3-inch display. We’ve gotten our hands on a shot of Best Buy’s Mobile inventory sheet, and the Versa has been scheduled to be released on February 22, 2009. We also suspect that this LG device will stock Verizon Wireless store shelves soon after.

The LG Versa offers a QWERTY keyboard with a mini gamepad for those gamers who don’t let mobile devices limit them. It has also been rumored to feature Wi-Fi as well, however we’ll have to wait till February 22 for that one.
